Borrowed Heads is a raw modern grunge / alternative rock album about identity, pressure, faith, money, anger and the quiet violence of everyday life.
The album moves through a world where everything has a price: peace is sold as a product, apologies come with fine print, belief gets tangled in paperwork, and people keep carrying faces that were never truly theirs. With dirty guitars, cracked vocals, heavy drums, gothic undertones and a deliberately unpolished sound, Borrowed Heads refuses to sound clean in a world that does not feel clean.
The title speaks to the feeling of living inside expectations, borrowed opinions, forced roles and survival masks. These songs are not about pretending to be broken for style. They are about the moment you realize the system is smiling at you while taking something from you.
Musically, the album blends modern grunge, alternative rock and darker cinematic textures: muddy bass, distorted power chords, tired verses, explosive choruses, feedback, church-like atmosphere and raw human imperfection. It is bitter, direct and emotionally worn down, but never empty.
Borrowed Heads is not a nostalgic throwback. It is grunge dragged into the present, under streetlights, behind locked doors, inside institutions, inside debt, inside belief, inside the head you were told to use.
This is an album for anyone who has ever felt misnamed, misused, overcharged, underestimated or spiritually tired.
SmusicX creates from a genre-independent mindset, driven by feeling and creative freedom rather than fame or polis
